The System

From the musical notation was taken how many bars the piece of music contained, and then it was divided into a circle. For example, if the piece consisted of 24 bars, the circle was divided into 24 major rays.
The number of notes from the highest to the lowest determined how many circular shells were needed starting from the center, then moving towards the outermost shell, thus from the highest to the lowest tone. In the thus prepared system the musical notation was transferred. The key and the pace formed the basic character of the picture.

MUSIK GRAPHISCH

TRANSFER OF THE MUSICAL NOTATION INTO A GRAPHICAL SYSTEM

To be able to make the flow of a piece of music visible graphically, it is a condition that the notes from the first to the last bar fit into a circular system. Therefore, only small compositions are suitable for this.

This idea came to me during my graphic studies in the year 1949-1950.
